Two officials of the BES were exposed on bribes

The SBU, in cooperation with the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), detained two officials from the Bureau of Economic Security (BES) who demanded bribes in exchange for “assistance” in conducting business and avoiding criminal liability. This was reported by the SBU press service.

One of the suspects—an analyst with the Bureau of Economic Security who had only begun working at the Bureau in February 2026—was detained while receiving an illegal benefit from a Kyiv-based entrepreneur. He “helped” the businessman obtain a license to store fuel at the company’s warehouses.

Another suspect—a senior detective with the Territorial Directorate of the Economic Security Bureau in Kyiv Oblast—demanded a bribe from a person involved in criminal proceedings in exchange for not holding him accountable.

SBU officers detained both officials “red-handed.”

Currently, the detainees are to be notified of charges under Part 3 of Article 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise, or receipt of an unlawful benefit by a public official) and Part 3 of Article 369-2 (abuse of influence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in accordance with the crimes committed.
